Kara Walker at Sikkema & Jenkins

Today I met DK in Chelsea at Sikkema & Jenkins Gallery to see the Kara Walker show before they take it down tomorrow. My pops told me it was something to check out. Miss Walker was born in California and mixes media, from charcoal drawings to text, creating provocative images of subjects ranging from stereotypes in antebellum South to Jim Crow caricatures to contemporary figures.
